Vivaldi's masterpiece in Vienna!
Experience one of the most famous classical pieces of all time, “The Four Seasons” by Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi who lived and died in Vienna. The Four Seasons are a compilation of four revolutionary violin concerts that turn sounds of nature into music, like furious thunderstorms and flashes, breaking ice and twittering of birds, barking dogs and many more.
Listen to this masterpiece as well as to selected arias by Vivaldi at Karlskirche (St. Charles Church), one of the most impressive buildings in Vienna and the most important baroque church northern the Alps. It was finished in 1737. Four years later on July 28th 1741, Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi died in Vienna and was buried just a few meters from there.
The breathtaking baroque architecture and rich decoration make Karlskirche a perfect setting for the outstanding classical concerts given here.
The concert will be performed by renowned Orchestra 1756 (on period instruments) as well as by international soloists. The ensemble devotes itself to the authentic interpretation of music from the 18th century and is known for its special historical and impressive sound.
